Shakira's inspiration for the Waka Waka Song

Shakira got her inspiration for the Waka Waka song in a very unusual way. She was taking a few days off on her farm in Uruguay, as she walked from the barn to the house she got the inspiration for the song. Shakira said she got the lyrics and the music for the entire first verse and first pre-chorus while walking to the house.

She arrived at the house with much excitement, shouting "I got it, I got it". Shakira then recorded the song with a guitar and raw vocals at the house, she then realised that the song had potential. Shakira said "when a song sounds good with just a guitar and vocals, then you know there is something there". Waka Waka is now song that is known worldwide and loved by millions.
